Tamilnadu state government has launched the free data card scheme for the students studying in government schools, colleges, or government-aided schools or colleges.
Under this TN free internet data card scheme, students will be given free data up to 2GB per day from January to April month.

The Tamilnadu state government led by Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami has launched this student welfare scheme.
Under this scheme, all the students studying the government colleges and schools in tamil nadu will be given free data cards with 2GB of data to use daily.
As we all know due to CIVID-19 all the school colleges are shut down and studies are going on online platforms. This online platform consumes daily data and this will cost a lot for poor people.
To overcome the cost and to provide free online education, the government is now providing free 2GB data recharge on their mobile numbers.
With this scheme now students can attend classes without any tension of data finishes during online classes.
As per the TN government, it is estimated that a total of 9.69 lakh students studying in government schools and colleges will get these 2GB data cards.

These data cards will be distributed under the supervision of Electronics Corporation of Tamil Nadu Ltd. (Elcot), a state government undertaking.
It is very good inititative launched by the state government by providing 2 GB data cards to students to enable them to participate in online classes, and continue their learning anytime, anywhere and with any device.
