The Tamil Nadu government will launch the Magalir Urimai Thogai scheme, providing financial assistance of ₹1,000 per month to women heads of eligible households, this year, on September 15, the birth anniversary of late Chief Minister C.N. Annadurai.
- Families who earn 2.5 lakh rupees per annum are not eligible
- Government employees, old age pension, labor welfare pension, social security scheme pension and pensioners are not qualified.
- Owners of five acres of land or more are also not eligible.
