PM WANI full form is Prime Minister Wi-fi Access Network Interface. This idea was initially launched by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) in March 2017.

PM Wani Yojana 2020-21
The Indian government has started the pm wani free wifi yojana or free wifi scheme for the people all over the country. Under this scheme, a total of 10 lakh wifi-hotspots PDOs will be placed in the rural and urban areas of the country.
PDO means Public Data Offices, this will cost approx 11000 crores in total to implement this scheme. Pm wani yojana will be operated by the CSC centers or other setups whatever the government makes.
With the help of this scheme now small shopkeepers can also set up their wifi hotspots in their shops. This will ease them to make online payments easily and for customers also this is a great advantage.

PM Shri Narendra Modi has approved the proposal of DoT for setting up of Public Wi-Fi Networks by Public Data Office Aggregators (PDOAs) to provide public Wi-Fi service through Public Data Offices (PDOs).
This will be spread across the length and breadth of the country to accelerate the proliferation of Broadband Internet services through Public Wi-Fi networks in the country. There shall be no license fee for providing Broadband Internet through these public Wi-Fi networks.
The proposal will promote the growth of Public Wi-Fi Networks in the country and this will increase some job opportunities and income to the people and government.

Under this scheme, Public Data Office Aggregators(PDOAs) will provide public wifi service through public data offices(PDO) across the country.

प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी की सरकार ने पीएम बानी योजना की शुरुआत की है जिसके तहत जल्द ही देशभर में पब्लिक टेलीफोन बूथ की तरह पब्लिक वाईफाई बूथ की शुरुआत हो जाएगी।
इस काम के लिए पीएम वाईफाई एक्सेस नेटवर्क इंटरफेस यानी पीएम वानी नामक इको सिस्टम तैयार किया गया है।
सरकार के इस फैसले से 4g नेटवर्क से वंचित इलाकों के उपभोक्ता भी हाई स्पीड इंटरनेट की सुविधा ले सकेंगे। वहीं ग्रामीण और दूरदराज के इलाकों के लोगों को इंटरनेट के माध्यम से स्वास्थ्य शिक्षा एवं सम्मान की खरीद-फरोख्त जैसी सुविधाएं मिल जाएंगी।
सरकार के इस फैसले की जानकारी देते हुए टेलीकॉम मंत्री रविशंकर प्रसाद ने बताया कि डिजिटल सशक्तिकरण के तहत यह फैसला लिया गया है जल्द ही इस पीएम वाणी को देश भर में शुरू किया जाएगा।

PM wani Scheme online registration process
There is no need for the registration of people at any place, all they have to do is to wait for the official launch of this scheme.
The online registration is to be done in between companies who will do this work and the government. They both will interface with each other and will set up the wi-fi hotspots all over the country.
There shall be no license, registration, the usage fee for providing Broadband Internet through these public Wi-Fi networks.
How to apply for pm wani scheme ?
As we know there is no registration would be required for PDOs, PDOAs.
App Providers will have to get registered with DoT through the online application portal i.e saralsanchar.gov.in of DoT, without paying any registration fee.
The registration shall be granted within 7 days of the online application.
App Provider will develop an App to register users and discover WANI compliants Wi-Fi hotspots in the nearby area and display the same within the App for accessing the internet services.
