West Bengal state government led by CM Mamta Banerjee has launched a new welfare scheme named “Chokher Alo” i.e a free eye checkup and treatment scheme.
Under this scheme, free cataract operations for senior citizens and free eye treatment will be for all people over the state.

CM Mamta Banerjee has launched chokher alo prakalpa scheme for the welfare of people in the west bengal state. Free eye treatment will be given to senior citizens all over the state.
Under wb chokher alo scheme 2021 free eye care treatment will be given to the senior citizens and cataract operations will be done.

Chokher alo scheme aims to provide better eye health among the senior citizens all over the state. Under this scheme, free cataract eye operation will be done.
All the eye treatment is free of cost, people do not have to pay any single rupee to get the benefit of this scheme.
The government has aimed approximately 20 lakh cataract eye operation will be done under this scheme. And the government will also provide spectacles to the operated people that are also free of cost.
This chokher alo prakalpa aimed up to 2025 so that no senior citizen remains with any eye problem in the state.

This scheme will run up to 2025 so that all the people get covered under this welfare scheme. Free spectacles will be given to the operated people.
Under this scheme, eye tests will be conducted for 10 lakh students and approx. 4 lakh students will get free spectacles.
Anganwadi workers will also get free eye checkups and treatments. To conduct this process approx. 300 doctors and 400 optometry technicians will take part.

WB Chokher Alo Scheme Registration| Apply Online details
To get benefit from this scheme, there is no need for any online registration process and any online application process.
The state government will send department officials to the doorsteps of the people i.e at the gram panchayats and urban primary health clinics.
Currently, the first phase of this chokher alo scheme is running and the remaining 2 two phases will start later. Under this 1st phase, 1200 gram panchayats and 120 urban primary health clinics will come.
So there is no need for any chokher alo online registration, just visit your near gram panchayat or primary health clinic.

There is no need for any application form required, all you have to do is to visit the gram panchayat or your near government primary health clinic.
