WB state government has launched the “Swasthya Sathi Health Insurance Scheme” for the welfare of people in the state.

WB Swasthya Sathi Scheme 2021
West Bengal State government has launched this health insurance scheme for the people in the state. This insurance scheme will cover all the people in the state regardless of cast, religion, be it a child or an old man or woman, profession.
Under this scheme, people will get health coverage insurance up to Rs. 5 Lakhs per annum. Each family will get health insurance yearly for 5 years.

The government will provide every family a smart card and with this sathi card people can go to the hospital and can take the treatment free of cost up to Rs. 5 lakhs.

This scheme is based on smart card, each family will be given a smart card and whenever a family member gets sick or need any treatment, then they can use this card in the hospital.
With this card, no fee will be taken for any treatment and insurance will cover the expenses up to 5 lakh.

- Applicant must be a resident of West Bengal.
- Any family can apply for this swasthya sathi card.
Swasthya Sathi Scheme Beneficiaries List
Following Beneficiary categories and their family members are covered:
- All SHG members, Asha and 1CDS workers.
- All Contractual/ Casual employees of the government of West Bengal.
- Civic – Green village volunteers.
- Disaster management workers home guards and civil defence volunteers.
- Contractual Homeopathic, Ayush, Unani and RBSK doctors.
- Elected members of 3 tier Panchayats.
- Former sports persons as decided by the department of youth services and sports.
- Cable operators/ Sub-operators/ Workers.
In addition to the above categories, there are so many categories are also included in this scheme. The state government continuously included more new categories at different times.

Rural families identified based on probation criteria of Survey 2011:
- Only one room with kacha walls & kacha roof.
- Disabled member and no able-bodied adult member.
- Landless households deriving a major part of their income from manual casual labour.
Now all the families in West Bengal can get the benefit under this scheme. All they have to do is to get a swasthya sathi card.

After this, you will be redirected to a new page from where you can apply for the swasthya sathi card online.
Note: If you are still not been able to get your card then you can visit the District Kiosk Operator at Swasthya Sathi cell with supporting documents.

Here on the Swasthya Sathi Active Hospital details page, you have to choose your district, Hospital type, hospital grade.
Then in the end click on the submit and then you can have your active hospital list.
